CONSTABLEVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Edwin G. Gillett, West Main Street, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a week-long family vacation at Caswell Beach, Oak Island, N.C., in August.
Mr. Gillett, son of Charlotte (Sawyer) Gillett, Spragueville, and the late Glenn E. Gillett, married Kathryn E. Ferguson, daughter of the late Charles A. and Dorethea (Reed) Ferguson, on Nov. 30, 1963, at Gouverneur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Honor attendants were James Whitaker, Rome, and Charlene (Ferguson) Oakes, Rochester, sister of the bride.
Mr. Gillett graduated from Gouverneur Central School and Canton Agricultural and Technical College. He started working with GLF, which was later known as Agway, in July 1963, then worked for 37 years for Agway and 10 years for Baileys Feed Mill, Boonville. Mr. Gillett is an honorary member of Triple E Hunting Club, Fine, and is treasurer of the Constableville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gillett graduated from Gouverneur Central School and Canton ATC. She was employed by Lyons Falls Pulp & Paper, Lyons Falls, and National Electrical Systems, Boonville. She is a member of Constableville United Methodist Women and enjoys reading, knitting and sewing.
The couple has a son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Barbara, Adams; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Greg Millard, Carthage, and Laura and Robert Dening, Glenfield; and six grandchildren.
