PORT LEYDEN — Robert R. Mosley, 48, was charged late Saturday with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child after a reported domestic incident Saturday night at his Mechanic Street residence.

According to a Lewis County Sheriff’s Department release, Mr. Mosley had attempted to stop a family member from leaving his home, and “began swinging a samurai sword at the vehicle they were attempting to pull away in.” He struck the vehicle several times, causing the back window to shatter, deputies said. He was arraigned by Lowville Village Justice Patricia H. Yarina and sent to Lewis County jail, Lowville, on $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
