PULASKI — Interstate 81 north between Pulaski and Sandy Creek was closed for more than four hours Monday because of a two-vehicle crash.

State police said a four-door Saturn sedan crashed into the back of an unoccupied Western Star tractor-trailer parked on the side of the highway about 2:30 p.m. The driver, a 67-year-old man who has not been identified, was taken by helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. There were no passengers in the Saturn.

State police investigator Shawn Finkle said the man was stable.

Northbound traffic was directed off the highway at Exit 36 to follow Route 11. The highway reopened about 6:45 p.m.
