Mildred Ruth (Rahn) Germain, 90, passed away November 23, 2013 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She was the wife of the late Robert Germain and mother of the late Jeane Humphrey. Mildred was born and grew up in Utica, NY. She lived in Bluffton, Indiana before moving back to upstate NY. She lived most her life in Watertown, NY before moving to Brooklyn, CT seven years ago to be closer to family. She loved living in “the north country” and was very active in her community while living in upstate NY. She was involved in the bird club, quilting group, her church and the historical society museum. She enjoyed gardening, china painting, sewing, knitting, camping, traveling and meeting people. She leaves behind her son-in-law David Humphrey, her grandson and his wife, Craig and Jessica Humphrey, her granddaughter and her husband Jill and Arthur Ouillette, and two great grandsons Kyle and Cory Ouillette.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11am at Creamery Brook Retirement Village, 36 Vina Lane, Brooklyn, CT 06234. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Hospice Foundation of NECT, 320 Pomfret St, Putnam, CT 06260. Interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown, NY sometime in the spring/summer.
