The Franklin Community Youth Organizations (CYO) Basketball League will open it’s 48th season today with a full slate of games at St. Joe’s Gym in Malone. There are a total of 14 teams competing this season, seven varsity and seven ‘splinter’ or JV teams.

The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club is the defending regular season and playoff champions and will host North Star on Sunday at 1 p.m.

This season marks the 48th year that the league has been run under the leadership of Ken Cring, with Wayne Walbridge as assistant director.

Other teams in the league (varsity-JV teams) are: Bangor, St. John Bosco, Marantha and Langdon Land Surveyors.
