SMDA students ready for Festival of Trees

Some sixth graders from St. Marguerite D’Youville Academy posed proudly with their tree they decorated for Festival of the Trees to benefit Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Pictured above are sixth graders Hope Switzer, Tyler George, Henry Youngs, and Andrew Sovie. The title of the tree is, “For God So Loved the World.” The tree is covered with snow angels holding Baby Jesus. On the bottom of each snow angel it is written, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son.” The tree is draped with snowflake lights and silver garland and is topped with a silver glitter star. The angel tree sits on a fluffy snow flake throw. Below the tree is a snowman basket filled with Christmas candy, a snowman Nativity and three snowman angels saying, “Let your light shine”. There is also a plaque that says, “Snowmen fall from the sky unassembled.” Snowmen may melt and disappear, but the message that these snow angels carry will live in our hearts forever. The Festival of Trees is today at 6 p.m. The auction begins at 8 p.m. (Submitted photo)
