Author Eileen K. Parsons will share the story of how she has blended the joys and sorrows of her life with a military family, her lifelong faith and a passion for writing at a Jan. 11 program at the United Methodist Church in Mannsville, 203 Lorraine St.
Her first Christian fiction novel, The First Rose of Summer, received honorable mention at the 2012-13 Los Angeles Book Festival. The novel is the story of how the strong moral character and faith of a young woman affected the life of a financial managers fast-paced, costly lifestyle.
Mrs. Parsons, a Watertown native, lives in Orwell with her husband, Eric. Her son, Daniel, is studying to be a pastor. Mrs. Parson writes a blog at http://parsonspapers.com/articles.
The event is a free presentation of Live More Ministries, a Christian outreach program for women in southern Jefferson County. The Mannsville United Methodist Church Women will offer breakfast from 9 a.m. to 9:45 followed by the 10 a.m. presentation that ends at noon.
