Harrisville teen charged with harassment, violating order of protection

HARRISVILLE — A Harrisville teen was arrested by state police Thursday after he allegedly he struck his mother during an argument.

Joshua K. VanWeort, 17, of 12942 Route 812, was arrested at his residence at 4:11 p.m. after police said he and his mother, Tracy A. Razen, same address, got into an argument, which became physical. During the exchange, police said, he punched his mother in the eye.

Police said Ms. Razen had an order of protection against him that runs until Dec. 27.

He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment and was held at Carthage state police offices pending arraignment in Diana Town Court.
