Clarkson’s Chin named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Erika Chin of the Clarkson women’s volleyball team was announced as a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American on Tuesday.

Chin, a senior who ranks second in program history for career digs (2,356) and aces (259), is one of 17 NCAA Division III athletes in the nation to receive the honor.

Chin was also chosen to the National Second Team, making her the second female athlete in Clarkson history to earn both honors. She joins former teammate Sara Artus, who was recognized in 2011.

Chin is a double-major, earning a 3.84 grade-point average in both chemical engineering and engineering and management.

The Golden Knights reached the NCAA Tournament in each of Chin’s four seasons and went to the Elite 8 the past two years. Clarkson’s record is 124-33 in that span.
