Play ‘Win It In A Minute’ on Friday to raise money for Louisville Summer Bash

LOUISVILLE - Fans of the popular NBC gameshow “Minute To Win It” should considers stopping by the Massena Country Club Friday evening, as the Louisville Summer Bash Committee will be hosting a variation of the show to help raise funds for the town’s annual summer festival.

Committee volunteer Joanne Cameron said even people who have never seen the show should still come out for a good time.

“On the TV show contestants are given one minute challenges,” she said. “It could be anything from carrying an egg on a spoon through an obstacle course or stacking plastic cups in a pyramid. This will be a variation of that show.”

And in order to avoid copyright infringement, Ms. Cameron said the town is calling their version of the show, “Win It In A Minute.”

Ms. Cameron said this is the second time the committee has hosted a Win It in a Minute game, and she said the committee is still planning to host a trivia night sometime next year.

“We will still be doing a trivia night, but this is for those of us, like myself, who are trivia challenged,” she said. “It is very humorous and a good time for everyone.”

Committee volunteer Nancy Charleston organizes the game, and Ms. Cameron said she is currently researching potential games and activities for Friday night.

“She makes sure there are no special skills needed, other than a good sense of humor,” Ms. Cameron said.

The game will be played by teams of two, which may register in advance for $10 per team or on the night of the event for $15. If you would rather watch, she said admission for spectators will be $2.

Prizes will be awarded and music for the evening will be provided by Mike and Mary Vierno. A cash bar will be available.
