An Ogdensburg man accused of driving while intoxicated will have his case heard by a St. Lawrence County grand jury.

Joel L. Hockey, 38, of 3718 Route 37, was arrested Nov. 23, according to city court documents, for aggravated DWI, improper or unsafe turn without a signal, unlicensed operation and failure to stop at a stop sign.

The choice of grand jury action was made in city court on Tuesday.

Mr. Hockey is represented by the St. Lawrence County Public Defender’s Office.

In other cases Tuesday before Judge William R. Small:

Matthew D. Ferris, 20, of 1050 County Route 4, Ogdensburg, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct to satisfy an initial Aug. 11 charge of second-degree criminal mischief. He allegedly damaged the lawn by the city docks with his vehicle, causing $195 in damage.

Mr. Ferris was given a one-year conditional discharge and fined $100.

Kenneth A. Lee, 51, of 400 Mansion Ave., Ogdensburg, pleaded guilty to petit larceny to satisfy an original charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument that allegedly occurred between December 2012 and March.

Mr. Lee allegedly forged three checks from another person’s account in amounts of $75, $25.94 and $20.58, all at local businesses.

Mr. Lee was fined $150, placed on probation for three years and told to pay $147.97 in restitution.

He was represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
