Waddington-Ella Jean Cole, 84, formerly of St Lawrence Ave. Waddington, died Saturday (November 16, 2013) at the United Helpers RiverLedge Facility in Ogdensburg , NY. Memorial services for Ella Jean will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm (December 14, 2013) at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Arthur Garno officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington. Surviving Ella Jean Cole are her children: Dr Glenn Davis and wife Melanie of Draper, VA; a daughter Debbie Mason and husband David of Williamsburg, VA. Ella Jean is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren , 2 nieces and 1 nephew, Cynthia Cole of Ogdensburg, NY, Kathryn Cole of Hudson Falls, NY, David Cole and his wife Amie of Porter Corners, NY. Ella Jean was predeceased by her siblings Ersel Cole in infancy, Shirley Ann in 1960 and Lyle Cole in 1999. Ella Jean was born August 21, 1929 in Louisville, NY the daughter of Harold and Grace (Wells) Cole. Ella Jean graduated from Massena Central school and Canton ATI in 1940. She was a member of Pi Nu Epilison and finished training as a dietician in Brooklyn, NY then was employed as a Dietician for Glens Falls Hospital for many years. In 1961 she suffered a stroke and was paralyzed and blind on her left side. She then began typing manuscripts for a publishing company. Ella Jean was an avid reader, baker and enjoyed her small gardens. Ella Jean was a long time parishioner of St.Paul’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Eastern Star Cretona Chapter 515.
