OFA took control of the scoreboard with two goals in the first 5:04 of the game but were never able to dictate the flow of Thursday’s NAC Division II hockey matchup at the Edgar Newell Memorial Golden Dome against a resilient Tupper Lake squad.

The early goals proved to be the only scoring of the game as the 3-3 Blue Devils used the 2-0 victory to even their NAC record at 2-2 with their second straight win and drop 0-4 Tupper Lake to 0-3.

But not before netminder David Prudhomme made a series of outstanding stops en rout to an 18-save shutout.

Tyler Nilson of Tupper Lake finished with 20 saves.

“Dave Prudhomme played extremely well and we needed him to tonight. Tupper Lake outskated us for a lot of the game,” said OFA Coach Jon Frederick.

“We got two new goal-scorers tonight in Jared Barr and Mark Morrow and Austin Putman had a nice game picking up two assists. Jared Barr had a strong skating night for us and Austin Morley-Sloan continues to give us solid two-way hockey,

Barr scored 3:11 into the game converting from close range from Burke Comeau and Austin Putman.

Morrow scored from the low slot at 5:04 completing a power play setup from Putman and Dylan Jock.
