P-H, M-W girls notch NAC East basketball wins


PARISHVILLE - The Parishville-Hopkinton varsity girls basketball team outlasted Norwood-Norfolk 36-33 in double overtime to earn its first NAC East Division win on Friday.

Nicole White and Kelsey Zenger tossed through 10 points apiece as the Lady Panthers rallied to send the game into overtime with a 12-5 fourth-quarter run. The teams then traded solo field goals in the first overtime before P-H outscored the Lady Flyers 5-2 in the second. Kelsey Putman and Miranda Collins chipped in five points each followed by Mary Coventry with four and Marissa Paradis with two.

Hannah Seguin led N-N with eight points followed by Breanna Deshane with six. Mirassa Langtry, Barkley and M. Seguin added four points apiece. Wellings and Hunkins closed out the Lady Flyer scoresheet with two points each.

In the other NAC East Division games on Friday, Madrid-Waddington downed St. Regis Falls 72-22 and Brushton-Moira beat Tupper Lake 42-16.

M-W 72, SRF 22: In Madrid, thYellowjackets jumped to a 26-2 first quarter lead and never looked back as Sam Dugan generated 13 points and seven boards. Olivia Parmeter hit one three in a 12-point performance and Jenn King (11 rebounds) and Tess Knight each delivered 10 points leading M-W.

Desiree Pryce tallied eight points, Mary Young delivered four assists and six points, Hannah Marcellus and Kayleigh Field (four assists) each tallied five points, amd Kennedy Murray chipped in two points and four assists.

Jenna Susice scored nine for SRF. Hailey Gardner added four.

B-M 42, Tupper Lake 16: Brooke Barrett netted 12 points in the winning effort followed by Martin with 11.

Lindsey Maroun and Sidney Kulzer paced the Lumberjacks with four points each.
