MASSENA – After a brief illness, Mrs. Blanche M. Glaude, 81, passed away early Saturday morning, December 14, 2013, at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Blanche was born April 16, 1932 in St. Raphael, Ontario, the daughter of the late Eldage and Eva Legault Beaupre. She attended schools in St. Raphael, before moving to the United States in 1954.

She once worked at Bob’s Motel before going to work at Woolworth’s, where she continued to work for 25 years retiring in 1994. Blanche was an avid walker, enjoyed traveling, and had a generous spirit in helping others. She was an active communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, volunteered at the Highland Nursing Home and a member of the Monday Volunteer Shoppers.

Blanche is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rollie and Ann Glaude of Massena; her daughter and son-in-law, Lise and Donnie Stearns of Lakeland, Florida; 6 grandchildren, Tim, Kristin, Jeremy, and Matthew Glaude, Jennifer Cameron, and Carolee Stearns; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by his sisters, Meriza Valade of Cornwall, Ontario; Jean Glaude of North Port, Florida; Annette Duranceau of Chateaugay, Quebec; Pauline Mayheu of St. Luc, Quebec; 2 brothers, Gerald Beaupre of Ancaster, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.

Blanche was predeceased by a son, David L. Glaude on March 4, 2002; two brothers, Laurier and Lawrence Beaupre; and two sisters, Beatrice “Pat” Beaupre and Georgette Duranceau.

Friends may call Thursday 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM with Rev. Scott D. Fobare, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Massena.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary’s/St. Joseph’s Memorial Fund.
