Local colleges: Stine, Sloan earn Liberty League top honors


St. Lawrence University track athletes Carly Stine and Harrison Sloan were named Liberty League track performers of the week after their showings at the Saint Holiday Relays.

Stine, a junior, won in the 400 meters and the long jump, while Sloan, a sophomore, took the 800 and a part of the 1,600 relay team.

SLU sophomore Scott Kasson and senior Kristen Linder earned field performer of the week honors after sweeping the weight events. Saints’ freshman Lisa Grohn was rookie of the week.

Clarkson freshman Katelyn Curtis was selected as women’s basketball rookie of the week after registering nine points in a 83-51 win over SUNY Canton on Saturday. Clarkson’s Ashley Loggins was also named to the league honor roll.
