Community members and Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce board members drove all around the city and outlying area Monday to view and judge some pretty spectacular holiday lighting displays.
Here are the winners:
Holiday Spirit: first place - The Kiah residence, 418 Franklin St., which won $100 sponsored by St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union; second place - Ellen Miller, 823 Caroline St., who won $25 sponsored by Big Cheese Pizza.
Traditional: first place - The McNally residence, 518 Proctor Ave., which won $100 sponsored by North Country Savings Bank; second place - Lee Jones, 612 Hasbrouck St., who won $25 sponsored by the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce.
Religious: first place - St. Johns Episcopal Church, 500 Caroline St., which won $100 sponsored by the First Baptist Church; second place - St. Marys Cathedral, 415 Hamilton St., which won $25 sponsored by Ed-Med Credit Union.
Peoples Choice Award: This award is judged by community members who rode along with Chamber board members on the tour. Awards of $50 each sponsored by the Chamber were won by Carbinos Diamond Center, 304 Ford St., and the Reed residence, 726 Greene St.
The Chamber acknowledged St. Lawrence NYSARC, which provided a bus for special needs residents of Centennial Terrace and Riverview Towers. Their bus toured the many homes and then visited the Lights on the River display at Lisbon Beach.
