TUPPER LAKE - Tupper Lake coach Steve Skiff has lots of respect for the Madrid-Waddington boys basketball program. That respect was intensified in Thursday’s NAC East game won by the host Lumberjacks 53-45.

“We jumped early in the first quarter but Madrid-Waddington came right back at us in the second and third quarters. They didn’t quit. But we played a very solid fourth as Anson Gagnier and Mitch Keniston each scored seven in a 17-point quarter,” said Skiff after theLumberjacks repeated a championship game win at the John Dinneen Memorial Tournament.

Keniston tallied 16 points for Tupper Lake (6-0. 4-0 NAC East) while Gagnier finished with 14. Cody LaPierre added 11 with three three-pointers while Liam LaMere scored eight. Jacob Barney scored a game high 24 points for M-W (4-2, 3-2). Aaron Armstrong netted six while Zach Brock and Maurice Rease added five.
