A bomb threat Thursday morning at Ogdensburg Free Academy forced 900 students from their classrooms after a note found in a bathroom threatened to blow the school up at noon.
State and city police combed the 1100 State St. for an hour after the note scribbled on toilet paper and stuck to the wall of a stall in a high school girls bathroom was discovered by a female student at about 10 a.m.
No bomb was found.
The note declared, Im going to blow the school up at noon, said Superintendent Timothy M. Vernsey.
We did not believe it was credible, he said.
Nevertheless, the students waited in the nearby, previously cleared Edgar A. Newell II Golden Dome.
Mr. Vernsey said that a hallway camera recorded eight students - four boys and four girls - entering the restrooms at the common entrance between 8 and 10 a.m.
City police have the video and were interviewing the students.
