Storm causes cancellations


The ice storm ripping across the north country has caused a number of cancellations and postponements.

n Samaritan Summit Village has postponed the Family Holiday Dinner, which was scheduled for Sunday. A new date will be given to families and residents next week.

n The Live Nativity at the Beaver Falls United Methodist Church scheduled for Sunday has been rescheduled to Monday at 7:30 p.m. due to the weather and safety concerns for the animals, as well as those involved.

n Winter Wonderland at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park will be closed tonight.

n Copenhagen Central School junior varsity and varsity basketball activities have been cancelled.

n Beaver River Central School Saturday activities and sports have been cancelled.

n All Souls Unitarian Universal Church Winter Solstice Service for tonight has been cancelled.

n All services at Adams Center Community Church have been cancelled for the weekend.

n Parkside Bible Church Young Married Group’s Free Babysitting Night has been postponed until late winter or early spring.

n Watertown’s First Presbyterian Church’s Sunday service has been cancelled. The service can still be streamed live at

n Alexandria Bay Baptist Church has cancelled Sunday services.

n The Watertown American Legion Post 61’s Children’s Christmas Party scheduled for Sunday had been cancelled.

n The Watertown Privateers game scheduled against Dayton for Saturday evening was been postponed. A rescheduled date and time will be announced.

n Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s After Hours Clinic in Canton is closed Sunday.
