Honored: Robert Haggett was recently honored by the board of chiefs of the Norwood Fire Department for his years of service to the department and community of Norwood.
Mr. Haggett has served as the Fourth of July parade chairman for the past eight years and has served the fire department as Norwood Brass Firemen manager for more than 40 years.
Honored: Jeremy and Becky Kelly, owners of Jebs, Lowville, on Nov. 21 were selected as the 2013 Business Persons of the Year by the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce at the 3G Fire Hall, Glenfield.
Milestones: Judy A. Condino, broker/owner of Condino Realty, Watertown, was installed as lieutenant governor of the St. Lawrence Division of New York State Kiwanis International for the 2013-2014 term.
Beginning Oct. 1, she will oversee Kiwanis clubs in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties.
Notable Donations: Several local businesses recently worked together with CiCis Pizza and Cold Stone Creamery, Watertown, to provide free meals to furloughed federal workers and their families.
The Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce thanked Page Fitness, Lake Ontario Realty, AT Matthew and Dier Insurance and Big Apple Music for their assistance during furloughs.

Winners: Little Theatre of Watertown was selected to perform Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner at the Nov. 22 Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) Festival in Auburn.
The group took home three awards at the three-day festival, where 10 plays by theater troupes from across the state were performed.
The troupe took home the Adjudicators Discretionary Award for best costuming, Adjudicators Award for outstanding performance to Jane Bowman Jenkins and Peoples Choice Award for best actor to Mrs. Jenkins.

Robert Marshall, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-108th Infantry, promoted to sergeant major
Chad Vieth, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion, promoted to staff sergeant
Barry Fretwell, Company B (Military Intelligence), 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, promoted to private first class
John Methven, Division Signal company, 42nd Infantry Division, promoted to staff sergeant
Joins sorority: Sophie Goobic, Canton, has joined the Philalethean Society, one of five sororities at Heidelberg University, Tiffin, Ohio.
Miss Goobic is a senior majoring in biology.
Inducted: Margaret R. Cummins, Potsdam, was inducted into Alpha Psi Omega, the national honorary society for theater, at St. Lawrence University, Canton. Miss Cummins, sophomore, is a graduate of Plattsburgh High School.
