Woodville-The funeral for Allen H. Fowler, 50, Allard Rd., Woodville, will be 1:30 pm Sunday, December 29th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Calling hours are Saturday, December 28th from 3 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund established for his grandson Truman Allen Whitney at Watertown Savings Bank c/o Stepheny Fowler, 19289 Co. Rt 65, Watertown, NY 13601.
Mr. Fowler passed away Sunday, December 22nd at his home surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous and hard fought battle with multiple myeloma.
Allen was born in Watertown, May 5, 1963, a son to Perry Fowler and the late June Trevett Fowler. He graduated from Union Academy Belleville in 1981. Allen began working on dairy farms at age 13, working for Steve Cobb on the Machold Rd. for 22 years and then the Barney family at Butterville Farms until retiring due to ill health in February of 2011.
Allen married Sherry Smith October 30, 1982. He was an outdoorsman and sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking and gardening. Allen enjoyed yearly trips to High Falls in the Adirondacks with his son, brothers and nephews. Allen adored his grandson Truman and spent as much time with him as he could. Allen started building his home on the Allard Rd. in 1987, completing and moving into his home in 1990, and has resided there with his family since.
Allen is survived by his wife Sherry; two daughters, Tiffany (Adam) Whitney, Smithville, Stepheny Fowler (fiancÚ Jerrid Zimmerman), Watertown. A son, Brandon Fowler (Sarah Woodruff), Belleville. Her grandson Truman Allen Whitney. His father, Perry Fowler, Woodville. Two brothers, James (Melissa), Pulaski; William (Tracie), Woodville. Father-in-law, Harry Smith, Henderson. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother June on December 7, 1992 and his mother-in-law Iva Smith on October 6, 2006.
