State police Tuesday arrested Michael W. Walters, 27, of 103 Relyea St., and Brittany L. Camidge, 23, of 213 S. Meadow St., after they were accused of stealing from two stores and leading police on a short pursuit.
According to police, the pair made off with various merchandise from Kohls and JCPenney. The value of the items was not given. Following the alleged theft, the pair sped off and led police on a short pursuit that ended in the Stateway Plaza.
Mr. Walters was charged with two counts petit larceny, one count third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. He was also charged with traffic offenses including running a red light, unsafe lane move, right-of-way violation, unsafe turn/failure to signal, illegal signal and a seat belt violation.
He was additionally charged with a declaration of delinquency because he was on parole.
Ms. Camidge was charged with petit larceny, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument and a seat belt violation.
She was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $750 bail, while Mr. Walters was held there without bail.
Both are scheduled to appear in Town Court to answer the charges.
