Frank W. Trowbridge


Ellisburg- A Celebration of Life service for Frank W. Trowbridge, 96, of the So. Landing Rd., Town of Ellisburg, will be 2 pm Monday, December 30th, at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Mark Strader of the Ellisburg United Methodist Church officiating. Spring burial with military honors will be in Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 12 noon until 2 pm at the funeral home. Members of the Adams VFW will conduct a memorial service prior to the celebration service.

Mr. Trowbridge passed away Tuesday evening, December 24th at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Alberta, Canada, November 11, 1917, a son of Arthur and Vera Hoke Trowbridge. Mr. Trowbridge joined the US Navy in 1939. He was honorably discharged as a chief torpedo man in 1945, having served in Pearl Harbor, during the attack on December 7, 1941 and in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

Frank married Fern Peterson in 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Trowbridge owned and operated dairy farms in the Adams and Ellisburg areas retiring in 1969. He continued to work as a carpenter for 20 more years. Mr. Trowbridge had a love of nature and was a gardener and an avid deer hunter.

Frank is survived by his wife Fern, Ellisburg. A son Arthur, Nebraska. Three daughters, Mary Keck, Mannsville; Sally (Bill) Boulton, Adams Center; and Peggy Trowbridge, Mannsville. 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. His sister Marjorie McCrea predeceased him.
