ASSAULT - MASSENA - Village police charged Shawn L. Beauvais, 39, of 36 Spruce St., Massena, with third-degree assault at 4:30 p.m. Friday following an investigation into an altercation that took place early Friday morning at the Hotel Nadeau. Beauvais allegedly threw Brian Cruz to the ground and punched him.

DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Dean S. Barney, 38, of 52 North Main St., Massena, with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for improperly signaling a turn at 3:11 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on North Allen Street near Andrews Street. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent.

UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Jeffrey P. Garlach, 52, of 174 Maple St., Apt. A, Massena, for operation of an unregistered motor vehicle and operational of a vehicle with an unsafe load at 2:56 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Main Street.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael W. Bell, 29, of Jefferson Avenue, Massena, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 2:12 a.m. Saturday.

FAILURE TO YIELD - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Heather R. Deragon, 19, of Howard Street, Massena, for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign following a stop at 1:14 a.m. Saturday on Woodlawn Avenue.

FAILURE TO KEEP RIGHT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Wesley R. Greenwood, 42, of Wagner Road, Brushton, for failure to keep right and operation of a vehicle with inadequate brake lights following a traffic stop at 2 a.m. Saturday on Willow Street.

INADEQUATE TAIL LIGHTS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Stephen F. Slater, 59, of Sherwood Drive, Massena, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate tail lamps following a traffic stop at 11:57 p.m. Friday on Willow Street.

UNSAFE BACKING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Eugene R. Wheaton, 55, of Woodlawn Avenue, Massena, with unsafe backing following a property damage accident at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Monro Muffler, 88 Grove St.
