St. Lawrence Central wins at Islanders Tournament

ALEXANDRIA BAY - St. Lawrence Central produced a 5-1 win over the Islanders on Friday in the first round the Islanders Tournament. The title game is set for today.

Kody Kocsis scored twice to help power the Larries. Luke Peets supplied one goal and two assists for St. Lawrence Central (3-2, 2-1).

Nick Kowalchuck and Hayden St. Hilaire also scored for the winners who received 23 saves from Nate Burnett.

“It was a good win. We worked hard today and came back after falling behind,” said SLC Coach Mickey Locke.

“Kody Kocsis continued his strong season and Hayden St. Hilaire had a strong game,”

Kyle Delaney scored on an assist from Kyle Gionet for the Islanders (1-4).

West Genesee 2 - Canton 0: Canton fell to 9-0 West Genesee 2-0. Ryan McDonald and Derek Farrell scored with Harry Burns making 10 saves.

Jon Stone turned in a brilliant 39-save effort for Canton.
