LOWVILLE — Town Hall Theater will host a sensory-friendly showing of the Disney movie “Frozen” at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, using state-of-the-art digital projection for the first time. The showing is sponsored by the Northern Regional Center for Independent Living.

Prior sensory-friendly showings at the theater have used 35-millimeter film.

Theater owner Patrick O’Brien said that readying the system took a little tweaking.

“We have an earth-shattering subwoofer,” he said. “We shut that right off.”

The surround sound will be turned down and the lights turned up. Patrons are permitted to move about the theater, as needed.

“We’re happy to be able to offer this to people with autism and their supporters,” he said.

The theater is at 5428 Shady Ave. Matinee prices are $4.75 per person. Admission for the first 50 guests will be paid for by NRCIL.
