HAMMOND - Returning to the court after a three-way layoff caused by sickness, snow and ice, the Lady Red Devils of Hammond wasted no time continuing their tough defense and three-point sharp-shooting in a 57-14 NAC West win over Harrisville on Friday.

The Lady Red Devils struck fast and buried four three-pointers running out to a 15-3 first quarter lead an worked harder from there.

“It was nice to get on the floor and play a game. We have a stretch here that will tell us exactly where we stand coming up next week and what we will need to continue to improve and build on,” said Coach Shawn Dack who will lead his team against Chateaugay on Monday (5 p.m JV start) at SUNY Canton and host Heuvelton on Friday.

“Regardless I’m very proud of how this team is playing. So we need to just take care of ourselves!”

Courtney Bova buried five threes leading the Devils with 24 points and Mikayla Horton netted four threes in a 16-point effort. Cassi Whalen netted six and Ally Crosby added five.

Mallory Baker scored eight for Harrisville.
