Motorists accused of drunken driving

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Matthew E. Prior, 22, of 401 Mullin St., was stopped by Watertown police at 2:23 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Academy Street for allegedly speeding and failing to signal a turn. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where his blood alcohol content was registered at 0.11 percent.

A BAC of .08 or higher constitutes intoxication under state law.

He was issued an appearance ticket and released.

n Devon J. Gillan, 29, of 112 S. Indiana Ave., was charged by city police at 1:55 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Academy Street with aggravated DWI and unreasonable speed. Mr. Gillan’s BAC was not available.

Under state law, a BAC of 0.18 percent or more constitutes aggravated DWI. Mr. Gillan was released on $250 bail.

n Eduardo J. Mojica-Nunez, 33, of 4205 Po Valley Road, Fort Drum, was charged by city police at 2:41 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Cedar Street. He was taken to the PSB, where his BAC was registered at 0.17 percent, police said. He was released into military custody.

n Alexander M. Pester, 23, of 18291 Route 189, Adams, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies Sunday after losing control of his vehicle and exiting the northbound lane of Interstate 81, where his vehicle became stuck in the snow. Mr. Pester’s BAC was registered at 0.16 percent, deputies said. He additionally was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
