The Watertown Privateers scored five unanswered goals in the third period, including the game-winning goal from Ludlow Harris in the final minute, to storm past the Danbury Whalers, posting a 6-5 Federal Hockey League victory on Sunday night at Watertown Municipal Arena.

Branden Parkhouse scored two goals and assisted on two others, including the tying goal 10 minutes, 11 seconds into the third period. Parkhouse then assisted on Harris’ deciding goal with 42 seconds left in the third.

Goalie Matt Anthony made 23 saves for Watertown (7-12).

After Danbury (13-5) took a 5-1 lead on a pair of goals from Ilya Solarev within the first 4:18 of the third period, the Privateers responded by scoring four goals in 1:44.

Watertown’s Craig Cole, Liam Tully, Andrew Harrison and Parkhouse each scored on a power play after Danbury goalie Mike Brown was assessed a five-minute major penalty for spearing and a game misconduct.

Harrison totaled a goal and an assist and Tully recorded a goal and an assist for the Privateers.

Watertown plays at Danbury at 5:05 today before returning to host the Whalers at 5:05 p.m. in a New Year’s Day matinee.
