Pay-what-you-want Zumba class to support charity

CANTON — A pay-what-you-want fitness program is coming to St. Lawrence University, giving attendees a chance to work out while supporting a good cause.

Karma Zumba is a four-week Zumba session, which will be held today through Jan. 24 at St. Lawrence University’s Newell Fitness Center.

Karma Zumba is donation-based, meaning participants can leave a donation in any amount at the door, or pay nothing at all. All proceeds will be donated to SLU’s Center for Civic Engagement’s Kick It for a Cause, which will support Zachary Hamilton, a Canton 12-year-old who has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

Three sets of classes will be held:

Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m.

Zumba Gold (a less-intense class) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 11:50 a.m.
