Motorists charged with driving while intoxicated


The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Andrew J. Burwell, 28, of 143 North Woods Road, Hermon, was charged by state police Sunday morning.

Police said Mr. Burwell’s vehicle was off the road in a snowbank on County Route 21A in Canton. His blood alcohol content was 0.13 percent, police said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication.

n David M. Johnson, 42, of 513 Pleasant Ave., Ogdensburg, was charged by state police with aggravated DWI Sunday evening. Police said Mr. Johnson’s vehicle was disabled in the intersection of Cedar Street and New York Avenue in Ogdensburg. They said the vehicle was out of fuel and was towed. Mr. Johnson’s BAC was 0.28 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

n Darren T. Mattis, 29, of 29 William Manor Drive, Waddington, was charged by state police with felony DWI early Monday. Police said Mr. Mattis’s vehicle was off the road on County Route 44 in Waddington. He refused a breath test, police said.

n Cooper L. Bond, 21, of 11 S. Main St., Norfolk, was charged by St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies with aggravated DWI at 1:49 a.m. Wednesday after a one-vehicle accident on West Main Street in Norfolk. Deputies said he lost control of his vehicle and it went off the left shoulder of the road, striking a snowbank and overturning. He also was charged with failure to keep right. His BAC was 0.22 percent, police said.

nTimothy P. Hicks, 24, Antwerp, was charged by state police at 1:33 a.m. Wednesday on Main Street in the village of Gouverneur. Mr. Hicks had a BAC of 0.09 percent, police said.

nKrysta L. Barilko, 21, Hogansburg, was charged by state police with aggravated DWI at 3 a.m. Wednesday on International Bridge Road at the Massena Port of Entry. She also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Her BAC was 0.18 percent, police said.

nMary A. Lasiege, 48, of 1332 Ford St., Ogdensburg, was charged by city police about 3 a.m. Wednesday after she drove her car into a yard on Lake Street, police said. She also was charged with refusal of a breath screening test, inadequate exhaust and unsafe tires.

n Edward C. Lanning, 27, of 26825 Nellis Road, was charged by state police at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday near County Route 32 and Route 11 in the town of Watertown. His BAC was 0.10 percent, police said.

n Cynthia I. Fultz, 32, of 95131 Desoto Drive, Fort Drum, was charged at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on Route 283 in the town of LeRay. Her BAC was not available.
