DWI wrap


The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Richard A. Denny, 32, of 129 Salisbury St., Sandy Creek, was charged by state police at 2:16 a.m. Saturday on Canning Factory Road in the town of Richland. Troopers said he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

n Andrew W.E. Race, 37, of 4 W. Church St., Adams, was charged by Watertown police at 2:31 p.m. Thursday. He also was ticketed with having an unlicensed vehicle and driving with a suspended license. His BAC was 0.11 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is the state threshold for DWI.

n George T. Cerwinka, 67, of Number Three Road, Lowville, was charged by Lowville Village Police with aggravated driving while intoxicated when his vehicle struck a tree at 2:45 p.m. on West State Street and then left the scene.

His blood alcohol content was 0.20 percent. A motorist is charged with the more serious DWI charge if the BAC is greater than 0.18 percent.
