Gouverneur man, son, daughter charged with trespass, disorderly conduct after New Year’s Day incident

GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man and his son have, so far, spent the new year in jail.

Police said Alan J. Travis, 49, of 102 Prospect St., and his son Timothy A., 28, of 41 Williams St., are being held at St. Lawrence Correctional Facility, Canton, on $1,000 bail after resisting arrest at a bar early New Year’s Day.

Police said Alan Travis, his son and his daughter, Chelsea M. Travis, 23, also of 41 Williams St., were asked to leave the American Legion on Main Street in Gouverneur, but refused.

Police said that when troopers arrived at the bar, the three became belligerent.

They are facing trespass and disorderly conduct charges and are scheduled to appear in Gouverneur Town Court.
