Colton man charged with criminal trespassing

POTSDAM — State police arrested Joshua J. Stiles, 22, of 297 Windmill Road, Colton, on Sunday and charged him with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

Police said Thomas Narrow, 49, of 44 Noyes Road, filed a complaint that someone stole a plastic 6-gallon gas can from a boat in his yard along with some lumber and a 5-gallon gas can from his shed. Upon investigation, police said, Mr. Stiles admitted to being on the property Oct. 6 but denied knowledge of the stolen property. Police said that Mr. Stiles’s mother was asked to watch Mr. Narrow’s dog while he was out of town on business from September to October and that Mr. Stiles was on the property both with and without his mother during that time.

He ordered to appear in Pierrepont Town Court.
