Scholarship: Gregory Gilligan, Adams Center, recently received a Presidential Scholarship to attend Alfred State College in the fall. Mr. Gilligan, a senior at South Jefferson Central School, Adams, will major in forensic science technology.

Joins choir: Paul Zehr, Carthage, a junior music major, has been selected for the Goshen (Ind.) College’s Chamber Choir for the 2013-14 academic year. The 39-member choir performs secular and sacred music from the Medieval through modern periods.

Scholarship: Erin M. Conklin, Watertown, received a SMART scholarship from the Department of Defense on Aug. 2.

Miss Conklin, daughter of David and Kari Conklin, Watertown, is a junior at Syracuse University, majoring in aerospace engineering and psychology. Her sponsoring facility is Langley Air Force Base, where she will intern this summer and work upongraduation.

Studying abroad
