COPENHAGEN – Gertrude F. McNamara, 74, 9841 Maple Ave., died Sunday, January 5th, 2014 at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Trudi, as she was known to family and friends, was born on September 8th, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, to William & Gertrude Ealey Lieser. She loved country music, cooking and traveling. She took many trips to

St. Louis. In 2003, she retired after 20 years serving as the Executive Secretary to the Superintendent of the Carthage Central School District.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard McNamara, 4 step children; Amy (Charlie) Williamson, Annie Korte, Kathy (Bruce) Cooper and Mike (Aimee) McNamara, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are her siblings, Anita Friend and Marjorie (Robert) Stein.

Trudi is predeceased by her siblings, William, Virginia, James and Helen.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Copenhagen, with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Copenhagen. Visitation will be held at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 10229 Washington St., Copenhagen on Friday, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to the Maurice McNamara Scholarship Fund at the Copenhagen Central School, 3020 Mechanic St., Copenhagen or to the charity of one’s choice.
