Several north country teens were among a group of 26 students nominated for military service academies by Rep. William L. Owens, D-Plattsburgh, according to a news release from the congressmans office Wednesday.
Nominated to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., is Jeremiah Reagan, of Massena.
Nominated to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point are Joshua Keruski, Sackets Harbor; Hunter Tuttle, Russell, and Noah Whalen, Colton.
Nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., is Connor Paquin, Massena.
Nominated to the U.S. Merchant Marine, Kings Point, is Riley Thomson, Alexandria Bay.
I am excited for the opportunities that await those selected to attend a service academy and earn commissions as military officers. I wish all of these students success and thank them for their commitment to serve and defend our nation, Mr. Owens said in the news release.
