The memorial service for Amy E. Cambron, 89, of 17218 N. Harbor Rd, Adams Center and summer resident of Henderson, will be Monday January 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m in the chapel of TLC Funeral Home, Inc. Calling hours will be prior to the funeral from 1-3 p.m. A get together will follow the services at the Henderson Community Center.
Mrs. Cambron died January 7th after a brief illness at the Samaritan Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1924 the daughter of Mervin and Alice Baker Caulkins in Lorraine, New York. She graduated from Adams High School in 1942. She married Amos Andy Cambron on August 22, 1945 at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. The couple celebrated 68 years of marriage in 2013.
Mrs. Cambron was a homemaker and also worked at Mill Creek Restaurant in 1969. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, VFW Ladies Auxillary, Town of Watertown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and a member of the Henderson United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cambron received a Certificate from Rosie the Riveter for the work she had done at New York Air Brake during WWII.
She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband Amos Andy Cambron and her daughter and companion Carol Reed and Thomas LaDuke all of Adams Center, her sons and daughter in law David and Sherrie Cambron of Pennfield, NY and Ron Cambron of Mesa, Arizona, her two sisters Beverly Franklin of Adams, Janice Switzer of Tampa, FL and her four grandchildren Leslie Reed and Sean Dermody of Clinton, Connecticut and Eric Reed and his fiance Carolyn Clair of Boston, Massachusetts. A sister Dorothy Aloan died before her.
