Chaumont- Charles P. Calhoun, 79, of US RT 12E, Chaumont, NY died Friday morning January 10, 2014 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mr. Calhoun was born January 4, 1935 in Watertown to Norman and Dorothy (Fraser) Calhoun. He graduated from Watertown High School and served in the United Sates Army from 1957-1959. Mr. Calhoun worked for the Town of Lyme Highway Department for 30 years and was Highway Superintendent from 1978 until he retired.

He married Patricia Fay Gogoe May 13, 1978, she died October 3, 2010.

Surviving are his daughter Cindy and son Kevin both of Colorado, step children John, Theresa, NY; Charles, VA, Sylvia, Depauville, NY; Cheryl, Clayton, NY; Robert, Three Mile Bay, NY, a brother William Calhoun, Watertown, NY; a sister Ada Kubacki, WI, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Merton Calhoun and two sisters Betty Livingston and Vivian Dejordan.

There are no calling hours or funeral. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
