Watertown woman charged with resisting arrest

Watertown police charged Kimberly M. Bancroft, 41, of 141 Smith St., with second-degree harassment, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at 500 Water St.

According to police, she threw a closed-fist punch at Officer Jonathan M. Pitts, intentionally prevented police from placing her in handcuffs by pulling away and fighting and keeping her left hand under her body, and then, after being handcuffed, again began to fight by kicking Officer Pitts in the leg.

She also is accused of preventing police from processing her arrest by not allowing them to take her booking photos at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building despite being warned numerous times to cooperate. She was held at the Public Safety Building on $250 bail.
