Ronald H. Barkley, 76, of Louisville, died peacefully in his sleep Friday, January 10, 2014 at his home.
Born in Massena, NY, he was a graduate of McKendree College, a US Air Force veteran, and retired from the FAA at Bowman Field. Ron was a docent at the Louisville Zoo and a member of the Louisville Dulcimer Society and St. Matthews United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Donald Barkley.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy E. Barkley; son, Kenneth Barkley (Mary); daughter, Kathryn Barkley; sisters, Deborah Catalano and Audrey Kalil; and two grandchildren, Olivia Barkley and Joseph Plymale.
His memorial service will at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Matthews UMC, 319 Browns Lane. Memorial visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service Thursday at church.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Education Department at the Louisville Zoo.
