Calcium man charged with breaking into house, attempting to rob occupants at gunpoint

A Calcium man was arrested early Monday and charged with burglary and multiple counts of robbery after he allegedly broke into a Watertown home and demanded money from the owner and others in the house at gunpoint.

Tracey Bunting, Jr., 23, of 25637 Bush Road, was accused of forcibly entering the residence of Patrick S. Banks, 123 S. Rutland St. While there, police said, he flashed what appeared to be a black pistol and demanded money from Dana M. McMahon, of 206 Franklin St., Apt. 412; Brittney Johnson, no address given, and Mr. Banks. According to police, the gun turned out to be a BB gun.

Mr. Bunting was arrested at 1:22 a.m. at 424 Gaffney Drive and charged with one count of first-degree burglary and three counts of second-degree robbery, all felonies, and three counts of second-degree menacing and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all misdemeanors.

He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was held on $20,000 bail pending arraignment in City Court.
