REDWOOD—Matthew A. Kron, 20, of 535 Route 37, and Thomas B. Hollister, 19, of 450 River Road, both of Hammond, were arrested by state police early Sunday and accused of burglarizing a local store.

According to police, the two entered Crossroads Grocery & Deli on Main Street about 12:30 a.m. and stole multiple packs of cigarettes. The total value of the merchandise taken is not yet known.

Police said the two were spotted driving on Route 192 in Alexandria Bay and were stopped on Route 26 shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, where both were charged with one count each of third-degree burglary.

They were taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, where they were each on $1,000 cash bail held pending arraignment in Orleans Town Court.
