St. Lawrence County, with the towns of Edwards, Hermon and Russell, will have a public meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 in the Russell Town Hall community room to discuss the Local Justice Court Consolidation Feasibility Study.
Staff from Laberge Group, the consultant that prepared the study, will provide an overview of the feasibility findings and gather public comment for the final draft.
The study was paid for by a Local Government Efficiency Grant from the state Department of State. It reviews justice courts in the three towns and offers options for sharing services, including consolidation. The study also provides a framework for other communities interested in the options, so includes a countywide justice court profile and schedule.
All county residents are welcome to attend.
