Carthage police seeking information in stabbing

CARTHAGE — The village Police Department is seeking information on an attack that occurred early Sunday on State Street.

Police Chief Reginald Huber Jr. said village police were called to Carthage Area Hospital to investigate a stabbing. Chief Huber said an allegedly intoxicated man in the emergency room reported he had been attacked about 3:45 a.m. while walking on State Street near the Carthage Park. The unidentified man said he was walking to a friend’s house when two white men got out of a car and one slashed his arm with a knife. The man said he did not know his attackers.

The chief said the assailants were driving a black, four-door Mazda. Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call village police at 493-1141.
