NORTH LAWRENCE A North Lawrence woman was jailed after allegedly stabbing her husband during a domestic dispute Sunday.
State police charged Melissa A. Francis, 42, of 15 Grove St., with a felony count of second-degree assault and a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Troopers said the charges stem from an investigation into a domestic dispute at Mrs. Franciss residence in which she allegedly stabbed her husband, Ervin E. Francis III, in the upper left thigh with a paring knife. The victim was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment, troopers said.
Mrs. Francis was arraigned in Lawrence Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. She was released on her own recognizance Tuesday morning on a court order out of that court.
