Local colleges: SLU’s Condlin tops Liberty League honors


St. Lawrence University junior Brady Condlin was named Liberty League men’s basketball performer of the week ending Sunday.

Condlin, a Massena native, averaged 22 points a game and shot 68 percent from the field in wins over Union and Rensselaer. Clarkson’s John Coleman made the league honor roll.

Clarkson freshman Katelyn Curtis scored five of her career-high 10 points in overtime during a 49-43 win over Skidmore on Jan. 7 to earn women’s basketball rookie of the week. SLU’s Kelly Legg was named to the honor roll.

Clarkson junior Al Catano was awarded the league men’s swimmer of the week after winning the 200-yard backstroke and finishing second in the 200 free Saturday at Rensselaer.

St. Lawrence junior Scott Smolensky won the 1,500 meters at the Ottawa University Invitational to earn men’s track performer of the week. The Saints’ Lisa Grohn took women’s track rookie of the week honors.
