CHATEAUGAY - A strong finish carried the Madrid-Waddington Central varsity boys basketball team to a 40-35 win on the road over NAC East Division rival Chateaugay on Tuesday.

The trio of Jacob Barney, TJ Gagnon and David Odendahl anchored the winning offense with nine points each as the Yellowjackets (6-4, 5-2) outscored the Bulldogs (4-4, 4-2) 13-4 in the fourth quarter. Zach Brock added seven points while Aaron Armstrong and Harrison VanBuren closed out the M-W scoresheet with two points each.

Tyler Jones netted a game-high 10 points in the losing effort followed by Noah Bowes with nine, Jordan Martin with six and Seth Young with five.-

In the other two NAC East boys basketball matchups on Tuesday, Brushton-Moira beat Colton-Pierrepont 49-32 and St. Regis Falls downed Tupper Lake 53-37.

B-M 49, C-P 32: In Brushton, the host Panthers (6-6, 4-4) methodically reversed a 19-18 halftime deficit by outscoring the Colts (3-8, 2-6) 32-14 in the second half. Alex Burnett led all scorers with 15 points in the winning effort. Bryan Aubrey added 14 followed by Trent Gary with seven.

For the Colts, Zach Farr worked the paint for 10 points followed by Riley Doyle with eight and Ethan Knight with six while Scott Boyce and Jon Angleberger each netted four.

SRF 53, Tupper Lake 37: At St. Regis Falls, the Saints took early control outscoring the Lumberjacks (7-5, 5-3) 19-9 in the first quarter en route to building a commanding 31-14 halftime lead. Corey LaBounty tossed through a game-high 19 points as SRF pushed its unbeaten records to 12—0 overall and 8-0 atop the East Division. Brandon Votra added 14 points followed by Tyler Fraser with eight and Ryan Duquette with six.

Mitch Keniston led Tupper Lake with 10 points followed by Anson Gagnier with eight.
