DEXTER — Cole Johnson scored 19 points, hitting four key free throws in the fourth quarter, as General Brown barely held off visiting Immaculate Heart Central 55-53 in a Frontier League boys basketball crossover game on Tuesday.

The Lions (3-7) led 46-33 after three quarters. But IHC (8-3, 5-2) roared back as Robin Massey scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to help the Cavaliers close the gap. IHC missed a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left to take the lead.

Johnson also contributed five rebounds and four assists, while sophomore Nick Nortz hit for 12 points for General Brown.

Jude Whalen scored 12 points and Jake Fusilli 12 for IHC.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 32, WATERTOWN 30

Benner Geurtsen and Jon Worden each scored nine points as the Spartans (5-5) held off the host Cyclones in a low-scoring crossover game.

Collin Jorden led Watertown (5-7, 3-5) with eight points.

SANDY CREEK 67, LYME 51

Tyler Swarthout scored 20 points as the Comets continued their hot start with an easy crossover win at Sandy Creek.

Zach Halsey scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Matt Reese supplied 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Comets (9-1, 8-1). Cameron Hall also contributed 10 points.

Troy Wilson scored a game-high 32 points for Lyme (5-5, 5-4), hitting four 3-pointers. Tim Morrow scored 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

INDIAN RIVER 45, CARTHAGE 21

Kammikia Barnes and Emma Bonk each scored 10 points during the Warriors’ “A” Division victory at Carthage.

Kelsi Nabywaniec and Barnes grabbed seven rebounds apiece, while Ashlynn Borce handed out four assists, and Sarah Mattingly made four steals for Indian River (8-3, 6-2).

Carthage is 6-4, 4-2.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 41, WATERTOWN 29

The Spartans pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a crossover win at Adams as Austin Stevens scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Hannah Bassett added 10 points for South Jefferson (7-0), which led just 27-21 after three quarters.

Hannah Levine and Katie Aldrich paced the Cyclones (5-7, 3-5) with 10 points apiece.

ALEXANDRIA 47, BEAVER RIVER 27

Lorraine Beard scored 26 points as the Purple Ghosts won a crossover game in Beaver Falls.

Hannah Lynch added 12 points for Alexandria (4-5, 3-5).

Sierra Neddo paced Beaver River (3-6) with 12 points.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 48, SACKETS HARBOR 21

Ashley Anchor scored 17 points and handed out four assists as the Vikings remained unbeaten with a crossover win at Clayton.

Kali Eyles contributed 11 points and nine rebounds for Thousand Islands (9-0, 7-0).

Jenna Fields led the Patriots (4-6, 4-2) with 13 points.

LYME 76, SANDY CREEK 12

Yanna Ososkalo scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to go with eight assists and five steals as the Indians routed the Comets (0-9, 0-8) in a crossover game at Chaumont.

Enesa Ososkalo and Allison Tarwater scored 19 points apiece for Lyme (9-2, 5-2). Ososkalo added nine rebounds and six steals, Tarwater drained five 3-pointers and Emily Ennis hauled in 10 rebounds for the Indians.

SOUTH LEWIS 34, LAFARGEVILLE 25

Miranda Rys and Jenna Rogers scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Falcons in a crossover game at Turin.

Alexis Olmstead hauled in eight rebounds for South Lewis (2-6, 2-4).

Amber Klock scored 14 points for LaFargeville (1-9, 1-6).

MORRISTOWN 47, HARRISVILLE 39

Devin Dulmage scored 14 points to help Morristown (6-2, 5-2) capture a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game in Harrisville.

Ryan Vollmer added 13 points for the Green Rockets. Tim Fowler led Harrisville (6-4, 4-2) with 16 points and Brandon Best added 15.

BOYS SWIMMING

WATERTOWN 105, INDIAN RIVER 65

Michael Netto, Joey Ongkingco and Jake Catalina each claimed one race and contributed to all three fastest relays to boost the Cyclones to a Frontier League “A” Division victory at Philadelphia.

Netto won the 200-yard individual medley, Ongkingco captured the 100 butterfly and Catalina took the 50 freestyle for Watertown (7-0).

Dennis Zhou claimed the 100 breaststroke, and Cole Coutermarsh won the 500 free for Indian River (3-4).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 96, CARTHAGE 65

Don Cean, Addison Roberts and Brendan Cataldo each captured two races and contributed to a pair of fastest relays as the Spartans secured an “A” Division victory in Carthage.

Cean claimed the 200 and 500 freestyles, while Roberts won the 50 and 100 free. Cataldo added wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke for South Jefferson (6-1).

Austin Schwartz (200 IM) and Skyler Gianelli (diving) won events for Carthage (0-7).

LOWVILLE 53, BEAVER RIVER 32

Collin Stewart claimed the 50 and 100 freestyles and swam on the first-place 200 medley relay to help the Red Raiders to a “B” Division victory at Beaver Falls. Nathan Munger took the 100 butterfly and contributed to a relay win for Lowville (6-2).

Joel Kloster and Keihin Lee were a part of two relay victories for Beaver River (1-5).

GOUVERNEUR 92, SOUTH LEWIS 79

Alex Deon captured the 200 and 500 freestyles and contributed to the first-place 200 free relay to lead the Wildcats to a “B” Division victory at Turin.

Spencer Knowles (100 fly), Luke Dunkelberg (50 free) and Mark Dunkelberg (100 free) each won a race and swam legs on the winning relay for Gouverneur (3-4).

Patrick Pominville claimed the 100 backstroke and was a part of two winning relays for South Lewis (2-4).

VOLLEYBALL

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 3, GENERAL BROWN 0

Haley Contryman recorded 16 assists, 16 points, five aces, a kill and four digs as the Panthers won an interdivision match at Brownville.

Breanne Gilligan contributed seven kills, six points and four digs for Belleville Henderson (2-7).

Hannah Peters had nine digs and five points for General Brown (0-9).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 3, INDIAN RIVER 0

Ally Cornaire finished with four kills, 10 assists and seven service points to power the Vikings to their first win of the season, 25-16, 25-18, 25-23, during an interdivision match at Philadelphia.

Paige Durdon delivered nine service points and five aces, while Miquella Farris generated eight kills, nine points and two aces for Thousand Islands (1-7).

Kasey Fuller recorded two aces, five assists and two digs for Indian River (2-8).

SANDY CREEK 3, WATERTOWN 0

Autumn Darling supplied 11 kills, four blocks and four digs to help lead the visiting Comets to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-18 interdivision victory.

Kylee Martin chipped in with 23 assists, three aces and six digs, and Kylie Hanni provided 10 kills, six blocks and 10 digs. Shania Darling finished with 11 service points and seven digs for Sandy Creek (7-1).

For the Cyclones, Emily Medley and Xanara Ruiz recorded five and four kills, respectively. Maggie Finster distributed eight assists, and Alyssa Barrett made 11 digs for Watertown (5-4).

WRESTLING

SOUTH JEFFERSON 56, IHC 21

The Spartans won two bouts by pinfall and two by technical fall in their interdivision victory over the host Cavaliers.

Logan Nichols notched a pin in 36 seconds in the 170-pound match to highlight the win for South Jefferson (13-2, 2-0).

Nick Koelmel captured a 12-0 decision at 152 for Immaculate Heart Central (2-6, 2-4).
